Château des Sarrins

Château des Sarrins

The vineyards of the Château des Sarrins are 22 hectares, in Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, southern France, located around the village of Saint-Antonin du Var, on hills 250 meters high and mostly clay-limestone soils. The estate is owned and operated by Bruno Paillard, a famous Champagne producer of the same name. When he bought the vineyards in 1995, they were planted with Cinsault, Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre. These valuable plantations over the age of 50 have been preserved and carefully maintained. The rest of the land is planted with Syrah, Mourvèdre and Rolle. In 2012 the mansion received the status of an organic producer. Bruno Paillard's exceptional precision in the vineyard and winery make his wines one of the most elegant in all of Provence!

Grenache

Grenache

Grenache (Garnacha) is a red-wine grape grown extensively in France, Spain, Australia and the United States. Grenache is the French name for the grape, while in Spain it is known as Garnacha, and on the island of Sardinia they call it Cannonau. In France it is most commonly found in the classic Southern Rhone Blend ( it is the main grape variety in Chateauneuf-du-Pape) but also plays a main role in one of southern France's signature Rosè wine style in Provence. In Spain, Garnacha is the key constituent in the prestigious wines of Priorat.
