Pinot Noir - the dominant variety in Burgundy - is a challenge for every vigneron and winemaker. It is also widespread in Germany (under the name Spettburgunder), Northern Italy (Pinot Nero), Chile, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, USA. Pinot noir wine has a specific aroma of red fruits in all their possible nuances according to the way of vinification - from fresh red cherries in the lighter versions to dark overripe black cherries in the more intense and heavy wines, which also acquire distinct earthy notes.
