Tenuta San Guido

The vineyards of Tenuta San Guido are located in several places around Bolgheri, with a total area of 75 hectares. The varieties grown are 85% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Cabernet Franc. with a total production of about 180,000 bottles per year. The world learned about this wine only in 1968, when it went beyond the family walls. In 1994, Sassicaia received its own DOC status (Bolgheri Sassicaia DOC), the only single estate wine in Italy with such a privilege.
