Inspired by the centuries-old tradition of vineyard cultivation in the Rila foothills, near the village of Smokevo, is the Bogdaya Estate established in 2020.
Family owned with nearly 10 hectares of vineyards planted in 2017. at over 620 m above sea level in the fertile land of the southwestern skirts of the Rila massif, in the semi-mountainous village of Smochevo, nestled in the foothills of the Polichka Alpine peaks. The most majestic of them bears the name Bogdaya.
The climate has a strong Mediterranean influence, a constant cool wind and a unique semi-mountainous character. The main focus is on white grapes, accompanied by the majestic Pinot Noir, which finds an interesting and challenging habitat for its development at the foot of the Rila.
