Tenuta Carretta
Tenuta Carretta stretches over 70 hectares around the village of Piobesi d’Alba, in the heart of the Roero region, Piedmont, northwestern Italy. The mansion has over 500 years of history in the production of wine. Since 1985 it has been owned by the Miroglio family, textile industrialists from Alba and is part of the Terre Miroglio, which also includes the Malgrà winery in Mombaruzzo and Eduardo Miroglio in Elenovo. The area was a seabed in prehistory, which determines mainly sandy and well-permeable soils. The continental climate with well-defined seasons and a decrease in night temperatures in late summer and autumn allow the grapes to concentrate aromas in the skin and contribute to the balance of ripening. Every year Tenuta Carretta makes about 480,000 bottles of the most prestigious red and white wines of Piedmont, Langhe and Roero, the most famous of which are Cayega Roero Arneis DOCG only from the Arneis variety and the prestigious and rare Barolo Cannubi.
