Le Ragnaie
Riccardo and Jennifer Campinoti are buying a property with a mix of older and younger vineyards. It covers 28 hectares in the Montalcino region, in the province of Siena, Tuscany. The vineyards are divided into three plots. Those to which the winery is located reach above the DOCG classification limit, 700 meters above sea level. In addition to these vineyards are those of Petroso, along the Scarnacuoia road, below the village of Montalcino (one of the oldest wine areas in the area) and of Castelnuovo dell'Abate, in the southern part of Montalcino in front of the Amiata mountain. Organic farming is practiced, the grapes are harvested by hand, the stalks are separated, fermented and then aged in large 25-hectolitre barrels of Slavonian oak for 36 months. The high vineyards of Le Ragnaie are at the heart of the blend. The long and careful maceration gives charming, aromatic and very fresh wines that manage to retain the necessary strength. Unique, extremely spicy Brunello style that will surprise and enchant you.
