More about this wine

Hartford Family Winery

Hartford Family Winery

Since 1994, owners Don and Jenny Hartford have built a reputation as a family winery with low yields, a lot of manual labor and vinification of individual plots with Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and old Zinfandel vines. Hartford Family Winery is located in Forestville, 12 miles from the Pacific Ocean. This is the heart of the famous Russian River Valley. In addition to their own vineyards, the family also uses grapes from several prestigious plots in Green Valley, Carneros, Sonoma Coast and Anderson Valley. They are all in cooler microclimatic zones than their neighbors. Hartford wines are rare. Year after year, they rank among the most sought after by collectors in California. They are intense, provocative and expressive both for their varieties and for their terroirs. They have been served at the White House many times during high-level foreign visits and other events.
