Freemark Abbey
Freemark Abbey is among the wineries that are beginning the modern era of wine in California. In the 1960s and early 1970s, their Bosché Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon was considered one of America's most iconic wines. Their Chardonnay proves that from this noble variety, California can produce stunning world-class wines. Freemark Abbey is one of 12 American wineries selected to compete in the historic Paris Tasting in 1976 and the only producer to compete in both the Cabernet and Chardonnay categories. Ted Edwards has been a master winemaker at Freemark Abbey since 1985. His intelligent approach, combined with his vast experience, made him one of the leading vine growers in the Napa Valley. Today, thanks to his efforts, Freemark Abbey wines from the Bosché and Sycamore plots are among the most coveted in the Napa Valley.

This is probably the most famous red wine grape variety on Earth - a natural crossing between Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc. From its origins in Bordeaux, this vine has successfully spread to almost every wine growing country in the world. Cabernet Sauvignon wines always demonstrate a handful of common character traits: deep color, excellent tannic structure and aromas of black berries and spices.
