Bright pale yellow in colour with lively citrus aromas, Granny Smith apple, fresh-cut grass and subtle floral notes on the nose. The palate is refreshing, with fine acidity supporting excellent lemon intensity. The finish is long and lingering with gentle mineral notes alongside the round fruit flavours. This is a classic, crystalline Sauvignon Blanc from Quincy, France’s first white wine to receive AOC status. It has a lively citrus and herbaceous character, with fine acidity and hints of stone fruits on the lively finish.

Domaine des Ballandors
Domaine des Ballandors has 25 hectares of vineyards of high-quality Sauvignon Blanc in Quincy in the Loire Valley. Legend has it that the grapes here were brought from the convent in Beauvoir by monks of the Cistercian order. The plantings are on sandy soil above freshwater limestones, typical of the region, which allow the grapes to ripen very early and give solid mineral aromas. Most of the fruits are harvested mainly from old vines up to 40 years of age. No oak is used, so the purity of Sauvignon shines in the glass. The winery is famous for producing some of the best French wines. There is no doubt that Quincy is one of the oldest vineyards in the region, quoted by Pope Calixtus II in 1120.

Loire Valley
This is a long and diverse region in western France, adjacent to the Loire River, which produces interesting wines - from charming and fruity to rich and long-lasting. A representative of the red varieties here is Cabernet Franc and the wines from Bougainville and Chinon are excellent, but in fact the white varieties are the specifics of the Loire. The most common are Chenin Blanc (Vouvray), Melon de Bourgogne (Muscadet) and Sauvignon Blanc (Sancerre, Pouilly Fumé). Sancerre and Pouilly Fumé have come out of the shadows of their region and can be said to be well known around the world - the former with the typical mineral-herbal character of the wines, and the latter with the greater complexity of the body and aroma due to contact with oak, although the variety is the same - Sauvignon Blanc.
